A US PLAY school asked a five-year-old girl to sign a ‘safety contract’, promising not to kill herself or others, after she drew a picture of a gun in class.
Her mother, Rebecca, was told that the school became concerned when she drew “something that resembled a gun” and pointed a crayon at another student, saying “pew pew”.
The girl was given a questionnaire to evaluate her for suicidal thoughts, and asked to sign a ‘safety contract’ without her parents being present.
A furious Rebecca said:
While I was in the lobby waiting they had my 5-year-old sign a contract about suicide and homicide… Most of these words on here, she’s never heard in her life.
Rebecca said the school have recommended that the girl attend psychiatric counselling, which she believes is unnecessary.

According to Alabama news station Local 15, the girl was also asked if she was “depressed”.
Her mother, Rebecca, was told that the school became concerned when she drew “something that resembled a gun” and pointed a crayon at another student, saying “pew pew”.
